Motorola Brute i686 is a new member of Sprint’s iDEN family devices, set to supersede the Brute i680. Packing the “usual for iDEN phones” toughness, this clamshell is made to meet Military Specification 810G for dust, shock, vibration, low temperature, high temperature, low pressure, solar radiation, salt fog, humidity, blowing rain and immersion.

In addition, it also comes with a 2-megapixel camera, GPS (with geo-tagging support), two screens (main one is 2.2-inch), large battery (1750 mAh), Bluetooth, web browser, media player and a microSD expansion slot that can take cards of up to 8GB.

As expect the Brute i686 can sing along a number of Nextel push-to-talk services like Direct Connect, Group Connect, International Direct Connect, Direct Talk, Direct Send and NextMail.

In terms of pre-installed applications, there’s TeleNav Navigation, NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile and Sprint Football Live.

Finally the size – the Motorola Brute i686 measures 3.92×2.09×1.02 inches and has a weight of 5.6 ounces.

UDPATE: The price is $119.99 with a two-year contract. More details on Sprint’s website.
