HP and Palm have done away with the Pixi as their pocketable webOS handset and moved on to a brand new device family called Veer. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 2.6-inch display, the same Pre-style gesture area, a Flash-enabled web browser, 5 megapixel camera, 800 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, HSPA+ support, Wi-Fi b/g (with hotspot support) and GPS. It’ll be available in early spring.
The Veer is likely to run a new version of webOS, which has a couple of new features, like sharing media to the cloud through the inductive (wireless) charging Touchstone dock. We’re still liveblogging the announcement, but I’ll update here as any more HP Palm Veer details emerge.
Update: The official HP Veer page is up, along with a bunch of press shots below, and official spec sheet after the jump.
