The Wholesale Applications Community (WAC) is getting stronger with the day, with 10 new companies joining the alliance. The new members include Adobe, Amdocs, Eyeline, HP, IBM, Minigate, Neustar, Panasonic, SAP and SanDisk, bringing the total membership count to 68.

HP is probably the most interesting new addition to the eco-system, hinting us we may see WAC-based widgets on the upcoming webOS smartphones.

Each company will “bring its own unique level of expertise” that will support WAC in providing solutions that will accelerate and expand the market for applications and provide greater choice for consumers.

Commenting on the news, WAC’s CEO Peters Suh said: “We continue to attract a healthy pipeline of members from across the mobile industry, as evidenced by companies such as HP, IBM and SAP joining the programme. In Barcelona, we will be revealing much more in terms of WAC’s momentum, with WAC-enabled application stores and fully functional WAC devices supporting the latest applications.”
