Samsung and the next Galaxy

Samsung Galaxy lineup shown off at MWC

We know that Samsung will be showing off its next-generation Galaxy S phones at Mobile World Congress and these phones are shaping up to be monster Android superphones.

There’s a chance that the next Galaxy S phones will just be an international equivalent of the Infuse 4G and that wouldn’t be too bad. That phone has the Super AMOLED Plus displays and these boast a 50% boost in the sub-pixel count and it also has a 1.2 GHz processor, 8-megapixel real camera, 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, WiFi, GPS.

There’s also rumors that the next Galaxy S phones will sport a dual-core processor and rumors suggest the Tegra 2 may be the chip even though Samsung has its own dual-core Orion chip. The teaser also talks about the “Evolution” of the platform, which could be a teaser that these will include LTE support.

We should also get the Galaxy Tab 2 at the show and this could have a dual-core processor along with a 7-inch Super AMOLED display. Let’s hope this version hits the streets with Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
