Motorola is bringing the DROID PRO to Europe. Called Motorola PRO, it’s basically same as Verizon Wireless’ baby with the only difference between the two being in the mobile radio used. Instead of singing along CDMA networks, European version is made to work with GSM-based ones, supporting the fast HSPA data.
Rest of the specs are identical and include such things as a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and dual-LED flash, WiFi and 2GB of internal memory that’s further expandable with microSD cards. Android 2.2 is running the show with MOTOBLUR UI on top of it.
Along with the device, American handset maker is also offering the Motorola PRO desktop dock (sold separately), which provides a “charging station on your office desktop or kitchen counter” and allows access to additional handset features while docked, including a clock (with alarm), a local weather reading, and the ability to play music or a slide show.
No carrier partners have been announced yet, but we’ve no doubts Moto is negotiating with all major players like Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange and Telefónica as we speak. Likewise, there’s no word on availability or pricing…
