Verizon Wireless and Alcatel-Lucent are showing off multi-player gaming over 4G LTE, which is now live in parts of the United States. The appeal is that the games are being played globally, so users can play with or against each other in real time all over the world. Verizon and Alcatel-Lucent were showing off games like Asphalt 6 and Dungeon Defenders during Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona, Spain.
If you happen to be at MWC 2011, go check out Verizon’s booth to see a demo of the games over the 4G LTE network. Verizon is pushing its 4G efforts this year and plans to have full coverage in the United States by the end of 2013, so this demonstration is just one of many things we can expect to see over the LTE network. Things like multimedia consumption, gaming and even home appliance connectivity are some of the things Verizon Wireless is pushing over its 4G LTE network.
