Mobile social network WHERE unveiled Perfect Places, touting it as a “new and fun way for friends to find great places to go together.” The new feature, powered by WHERE’s popular (and proprietary) recommendation engine, recommends nearby places for users to go by matching relevant similarities in their tastes.
In addition, WHERE also announced integration with Bump, allowing users to get recommendations for Perfect Places simply by “bumping” their phones together. This will work even with folks who are not yet friends on WHERE, serving as an awesome ice-breaker.
I love Bump and I’m always pleased to see companies integrating its functionality in their mobile apps.
WHERE’s goal is to encourage people to get out into the world, go places and bring friends. IntoMobile’s mantra is pretty much the same — too bad Mobile World Congress happens once a year. Then again, there are always other events like CES, CTIA and IFA, to name the few. 😉
