O2 UK will be adding two of Samsung’s low-to-mid range Android smartphones in the near future – Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Ace, both of which have been officially announced exactly a month ago.
The former rocks a 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera and 600MHz processor; while the latter packs a 5-megapixel camera, HVGA display and an 800MHz CPU. In addition, both devices also come with WiFi and HSPA connectivity options, GPS, Bluetooth and a microSD memory card slot.
In a nutshell, the Samsung Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Ace cater to first time Android smartphone buyers and in that sense I can easily envision O2 moving tons of units, presuming these will be offered free of charge with some not-that-expensive contract. Moreover, O2 says that both devices will be offered “with something special,” though we’re not sure what that means. My guess is that we’re talking about some content/apps pre-loaded or a free Bluetooth headset…
