Oh that Optimus 2X continues to surprise. We’ve already reviewed the device but playing around with some multitouch apps show that the Tegra 2-powered device can recognize up to 10 inputs at once.
In the review of the LG Optimus 2X, I mentioned how I didn’t like the keyboard that much because the auto-correct software wasn’t as good as some of the things I’ve seen before. Still, actually inputting letters was a breeze due to the multitouch keyboard support.
We’ve seen a multitouch keyboard on devices like the Droid X, so that’s not really a big whoop but I haven’t seen an Android device that can do up to 10 inputs at once. Check out the video below for proof.
What does the stellar LG Optimus 2X multitouch support mean for you? Well, not much at the moment but it does open the door for possibilities down the road with apps and software upgrades.
We’ve seen with software like the iOS 4.3 beta that mobile makers are thinking deeply about multitouch gestures to give users more control over their devices without buttons. I absolutely know that it’s not comfortable to get more than two fingers on a phone but on a tablet, it makes a lot more sense with the extra real estate.
