HTC Incredible 2 with full Verizon regalia spotted in the wild

Do leaked, candid images of smartphones still excite you? Perhaps you’ll be thrilled to know that the successor to the HTC Incredible, the Verizon HTC Incredible 2, has been spotted in the wild and photographed for your viewing pleasure.

We’ve seen the HTC Incredible S at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month, and the Incredible 2 is really not too different. To the untrained eye, they look practically identical. The only distinguishing feature, really, is the Verizon branding on the Incredible 2. Here are the rumored specs for the CDMA version of this device:

  • 4.0” Super LCD WVGA
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) w/ Sense
  • 8MP camera w/ flash
  • 1.3MP front facing camera
  • 1Ghz Qualcomm MSM 8655 processor
  • 4GB internal storage
  • 768mb of RAM
  • 1450mAh battery

Not too shabby, but its success might not mirror that of its predecessor if folks are fawning over dual-core processors and LTE-equipped phones. If you remember the Incredible situation last year, it was a painful time for those who really wanted to the Android device. It quickly sold out in stores and online and it took Verizon and HTC quite some time to get it back in stock, which was a pretty good sign for both HTC and Android.

Let’s see how well this smartphone fares on Verizon’s shores against the iPhone 4 and the upcoming Thunderbolt, an LTE-capable Android smartphone also by HTC.
