If you’re on a market looking to grab some classic and/or collectible cars, and at the same time own an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, you may want to know about Classic Car Guide, a new mobile app that should make the process easier.
Created by the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, it provides real-time data about collector vehicle values that can help users make informed purchasing decisions. The application does its “magic” by fetching data from Keith Martin’s Sports Car Market’s database which has more than 100,000 auction entries to provide up-to-date and accurate sales information for domestic and foreign collectible cars. You can search the collector car transaction data by vehicle identification number (VIN), make, model and year to help determine a fair current market price and to obtain insurance quotes.
In addition, there are photos of collector vehicles, reference articles from Sports Car Market, as well as the ability to get additional car listings from Craigslist and eBay…
Definitely a nice tool for the targeted market though not as cool as that Swedish app that allows users to snap a picture of car’s license to check prices and specs.
