Quickoffice released an update to its popular Android application that makes the productivity app even more powerful than it was before. For those that are not familiar with Quickoffice, it is a mobile office suite that lets you edit Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations on the go. A new set of features includes faster file loading, scrolling and zooming within documents, and contextual search. Power users will be pleased with the new text-to-speech functionality as well as the ability to create PowerPoint documents on their Android phone. Another much-needed benefit is the ability to cut, copy, paste, undo and redo in Quickword, Quicksheet and Quickpoint.
QuickOffice is available for devices running Gingerbread, Froyo and Eclair. Many Android handsets ship with the full version of Quickoffice, but if you have the limited, edit-only version, you can upgrade to the Pro version for $7.99. The full press release with details on this update is available on the next page.
