Some Sprint training promotions show the WiMAX-enabled Samsung Nexus S is going to be released on April 18.
The Samsung Nexus S 4G isn’t really that different from the original: it’s got the same 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 5 megapixel camera (plus secondary front-facing camera), 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, Wi-Fi b/g/n with mobile hotspot, NFC for contactless payments, GPS, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The one addition is WiMAX 4G connectivity, so you can stream videos, browse the web, and download apps at 3 – 6 Mbps (according to Sprint).
Another big feature will be tight integration with Google Voice. Now your existing Sprint number will be able to go through Google, and redirect to multiple lines at once – one number, for all your contact points. Google Voice also lets you save voicemails and texts for future reference.
Can’t wait to snag one? The official announcement priced the Samsung Nexus S 4G as $199 on a two-year contract with Sprint.
