Boost Mobile (an MVNO running on Sprint’s network), has set up a landing page for the Samsung Galaxy Prevail. Specs for now are slim, but it promises to have Android 2.2, a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a 2 megapixel camera, GPS, and stereo Bluetooth support. As you might expect, this is one is priced for the entry-level: $179.99, off contract.
There’s stuff in Europe like the Samsung Galaxy Mini that offers something entry-level that runs Android, but most of the time here in North America, Samsung aims for the upper end with their Galaxy variants like the S 4G, S 2, Infuse, Captivate, and Fascinate. Decent, cheap Android phones that are available without a multi-year contract are welcome anywhere, but especially on Boost, since their only other option in that category is the Motorola i1.
Boost Mobile is expected to announce the Samsung Galaxy Prevail tonight, so expect some hands-on pictures and video from Marc tonight or tomorrow. You can find it in their online store for the time being.
