The Arc and Play seem to be getting all of the attention when it comes to Sony Ericsson’s Xperia family, but there is one more addition on the way: the Neo. The Xperia Neo has recently been confirmed to launch in the UK for £360 outright on April 19, and Sony Ericsson Canada has it listed online as “coming soon”. We had previously seen signs that this upper-range Android phone would be coming to Australia and Germany as well.
The Xperia Neo, though lacking the slimness of the arc, still brings a lot to the table: a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, has a 3.7-inch 854 x 480 Bravia-quality display, 8 megapixel camera with LED flash (plus front-facing camera), Wi-Fi b/g/n with DLNA media sharing support, HDMI-out, and it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Neo is also one of Sony Ericsson’s eco-friendly phones, bearing the GreenHeart brand.
It looks like the Xperia Neo will be a slightly lower-end phone than the Arc, while still offering a big screen, fast processor, and modern OS. That being said, unless a shopper is particularly inclined to go green, or they don’t have the option, I would imagine the Arc would be a more attractive choice.
