Palm Pre 3 headed to Verizon Wireless?

Palm Pre 3 on Verizon

The Palm Pre 3 is slated to arrive this summer on a variety of wireless networks globally. The webOS handset also includes a CDMA radio, but no mention of a CDMA carrier has been mentioned by HP in an early pre-launch hype. A tip sent into PreCentral suggests the Palm Pre 3 may land on Verizon Wireless. The amazingly clear photo shows a Palm Pre 3 with a Verizon Wireless banner on the front suggesting the handset is pulling its 3G signal from the wireless carrier.

A launch on Verizon would not be surprising as the wireless carrier sold both the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus when the two handsets debuted early last year. Of course this could be fake and we will need to wait until Verizon of HP comes through with some official confirmation before we start talking seriously about another webOS handset on Big Red.

Similar to its predecessor, the Palm Pre 3 will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 1.4 GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.6-inch WVGA display, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with HD recording, front-facing camera, Bluetooth, WiFi and more. The handset has both EVDO and GSM connectivity with  support for HSPA+ on compatible GSM networks. We got some quality time with the Pre 3 at an HP event in February and you can read our hands-on review of this upcoming webOS handset here.
