HP is kicking off a series of developer workshops to drum up interest in webOS tablet development before the launch of the TouchPad this summer. The first few workshops are being held now and then again on April 28-29 on Palm’s campus in Sunnyvale, California.
During these two-day events, developers can work together with HP’s engineers on the Enyo framework and the PDK. They can also get tips and tricks on refining the webOS user interface for a tablet-sized display. Eager developers that complete an application during the workshop can test their apps on an actual TouchPad tablet.
If you cannot afford to travel that far for a two-day developer’s session, keep your eyes open for more information from HP. The company is reportedly planning to take these developer workshops to other cities in the upcoming months. The TouchPad is slated to land in summer 2011 and it wouldn’t hurt to get your app in the webOS app catalog in time for the launch. As the old saying goes, the early bird gets the worm.
