BuzzCity is out with its BuzzCity Report, a quarterly summary on the “trends and forces shaping mobile advertising.” According to the company, during the first quarter of 2011, the number of ads served on the BuzzCity Ad Network increased by 38% globally to 23.2 billion ad impressions, which is a record in both traffic and adspend.
Carriers in the Central and South American countries such as Costa Rica, Mexico and Venezuela are running numerous mobile advertising campaigns, taking advantage of cheaper data rates and improved network capabilities.
Despite political tension, Egypt has shown a phenomenal 144% increase in mobile advertising. Other countries where increased media consumption and advertiser interest has been noticed include Spain (225%), China (130%), South Korea (92%), Thailand (92%) and Turkey (82%).
Nokia still remains the dominant device globally among mobile internet surfers (46%) and is trailed by Samsung (12.5%) and Sony Ericsson (8.4%). Unsurprisingly, BuzzCity has seen continued growth of Android, particularly among gamers with downloads from devices running Google’s mobile OS almost doubling in just three months… And you can get full BuzzCity’s report from their website.
