Glu Mobile announced a multi-title partnership with Blammo Games, founded by the game industry veteran Christopher Locke, who most recently built and ran the studio responsible for freemium top ten grossing iOS titles Smurfs’ Village and Zombie Cafe. Moreover, he also served as external producer on another popular game – Lil’ Pirates.
As part of the deal, Glu will act as publisher and Blammo Games as developer on two titles over the next twelve months, both of which will integrate Glu’s tools and technology. The partnership may be extended for sequels of each release, and Glu also left itself an option to purchase up to a 25% ownership interest in Blammo.
Guess they’re betting big on the ability of Mr. Locke to lead the team that makes great games.
In related news, we recently reported that Glu Mobile has struck a deal to make games based on the work of best-selling author James Frey.
