ZTE files more lawsuits against Huawei

Few days ago we talked about the legal spat between ZTE and Huawei. The first of the two thinks it has more to say on the subject and is now filing motions in multiple countries to invalidate various Huawei patents and the Huawei trademark. According to a Wall Street Journal report, which cites ZTE’s press officer, ZTE looks to invalidate some Huawei “family patents” in China and elsewhere. Moreover, ZTE has also filed a lawsuit in France over patents relating to a USB connector device, and asked European regulators to revoke a type of trademark certification held by Huawei.

Huawei on its end has already filed lawsuits against ZTE in Germany, France and Hungary for alleged patent and trademark infringement. The company [Huawei] claims ZTE is infringing a series of Huawei’s patents relating to datacard and LTE technologies, adding that ZTE has “illegally” used a Huawei-registered trademark on some of its datacard products…
