Last month we’ve seen AT&T’s Pre 3 (model number HSTNH-F30CN) passing the FCC hurdle, and now we have Verizon’s version (HSTNH-F30CV) taking the same route. From what we can tell (FCC link), it will be a worldphone that can work both on the Big Red carrier’s network as well as GSM/UMTS networks around the world. In other words, this “new” Pre 3 can sing along CDMA networks on 850 and 1900 MHz bands (Verizon’s own network), as well as UMTS (3G) on 900 and 2100 MHz, which are the frequencies used in Europe.
Release date is still unknown but now that the device is legally ready for introduction on the U.S. soil, I see no reason for postponing the launch. I’m sure HP wants to see webOS 3.0-based devices finally hitting the hands of consumers…
