Fujitsu is said to be working on a 7-inch Android tablet. The story comes from DigiTimes, which said the Japanese company will launch such a product at some point during the third quarter. The site goes on suggesting we should expect the Honeycomb-powered device that will cost between $347 and $694. The still unnamed Taiwanese ODM will make it to keep the price down (which we hope will be closer to $347).
We’ve no idea whether Fujitsu will sell its baby outside of the Land of the rising Sun and can only hope that will be the case. They used to sell rock-solid tablet PC in the U.S. (such as the Stylistic ST6012 pictured above), but have failed to bring them to the European shores. I guess we have their alliance with Siemens to blame for that.
Anyway, it’s good to see another respectable company joining the market. I dig 7-inch tablets but as I said before – 8.9-inch screens make even more sense. We’ll keep following all the tablet news and let you know as soon as we hear something new. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
