This summer’s feature programs from Bravo, Oxygen and Syfy are about to “get Shazamed,” giving viewers a “second screen” experience and the opportunity to engage with their favorite shows. That engagement usually means access to some additional content, which is not available elsewhere.
The following Shazam for TV programming will begin on Bravo, Oxygen and Syfy this summer:
- Bravo’s songwriting competition “Platinum Hit” will feature three Shazamable moments in each premiere episode that will unlock bonus content such as playlists from the judges and contestants, full performances of each week’s winning song and footage from the judges’ deliberation.
- Oxygen’s new show, “The Glee Project” (launching on June 12) will allow Shazamers to tag the show to see exclusive content tied to what’s happening in the episode right at that moment.
- Syfy’s “Alphas” (launching on July 11) will give users the opportunity to engage with “super-powered” content from the show. In 2010, Syfy was among the first American television channels to partner with Shazam, providing exclusive content from the network’s hit programs “Eureka” and “Warehouse 13” and, in 2011, “Being Human.”
In addition, all of Bravo’s “Summer by Bravo” promo commercials on TV, in theaters, and online will be Shazamable, giving fans extra information about the spot…
I’m curious – do you dig the idea of Shazaming a show or commercial to get access to some additional content?
