OpenFeint scored a big partner that will integrate the company’s social gaming capabilities. It’s SEGA which will provide social gaming for its forthcoming mobile title – Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing for iOS-based devices. As a result, players will be able to add friends on OpenFeint’s 85-million-player gaming network plus access leaderboards and achievements, and share their best scores via Facebook and Twitter. Moreover, SEGA also implemented OpenFeint’s developer announcements, allowing it [SEGA] to send players direct messages.

When it comes to availability, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing will be released on iOS later this summer.

Finally we have the words of SEGA’s Haruki Satomi (Vice President of Digital Business) to share. He said: “Cross platform mobile social gaming is a major goal of SEGA and we believe Sonic will continue to entertain and inspire consumers while on the go. OpenFeint offers a great platform to launch games on, whether it be through access to their enormous player community or the use of great cross-promotional features like developer announcements.”
