Samsung will soon release the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for two of its budget smartphones – Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Gio. For those who can’t wait any more, there’s an alternative option to get your device running the latest version of Google’s mobile OS right now. Of course, some technical knowledge is required and so is the experimental spirit. If both are set, proceed to this page at SamFirmware’s website where, once registered, you will be able to grab the latest firmware for the Mini and Gio. After the update, your phone will run Android 2.3.3, which is said to deliver overall performance and battery life improvements.
As usual, we advise you to backup your data prior to entering this adventure, which BTW could easily break your warranty. Moreover, you should also be aware that if something goes wrong, we (IntoMobile) can’t be held liable. I just had to add that disclaimer. 😉
