Impulse buy of the day: Grab the Acer Iconia A500 for $380 on eBay today

If you’re looking for decent Android Honeycomb tablet that won’t break the bank and keep you missing your chance to grab the Asus Transformer, then eBay has you covered today. eBay’s Daily Deal is for the Acer Iconia Tab A500 and it can be yours for only $380.

Initially, Honeycomb tablets have been terribly overpriced, even if they are justified to some extent. The tides are beginning to change, though, and we’re beginning to see affordable Android Honeycomb tablets that pack a similar punch as what you’d find in the more expensive variety. One such tablet is the Acer Iconia Tab A500 and for $380,  it’s a pretty good deal considering it usually retails for about $450. No matter how you spin it, a $70 discount sounds pretty enticing if you ask us.

The Iconia Tab features a 10.1 inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, NVIDIA’s blazing fast Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot for expandable memory, micro HDMI port, dual speakers, Bluetooth, WiFi (b/g/n), and Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The tablet has the innards to take on the likes of the Motorola Xoom and other tablets of its kind, but it’s not as compact as its pricier cousins, making it a little heftier. Still, Acer’s tablet offering is very nice and if you’re in the market for a tablet that won’t cost you at least $500, the Iconia Tab A500 may be just what you’ve been looking for.

By year’s end, tablets like the Iconia Tab will likely be significantly cheaper than what they will cost you today. This will be due to a large swarm of Honeycomb tablets hitting the market and better hardware components coming down the pipe, like NVIDIA’s Kal-El quad-core processor. This is to be expected in such a new market, as it’s still trying to find its place in the world, and whether or not it will get past something other than, “Infotainment.” At the moment, that’s exactly what tablets are for, and only have so many use cases outside of reading and playing games.

If you’re ready to pull the trigger on the Iconia Tab A500, hit up the link below to take advantage of this deal!
