Sharp has been trying to stay out the United States smartphone market for as long as itcan, but according to the latest FCC filling from the company, this might change very soon. The Sharp phone in the picture has not been announced, but stays true to Sharp’s previously-demoed 3D model.
The phone has been suspected to be the IS12SH, but we cannot confirm this claim. The FCC filling for this phone gives us a little detail about what we should expect:
The phone has not been announced just yet by Sharp, so specs are a little dry. Looking at the picture, you can tell this is another 3D phone from the dual 8-megapixel cameras that are placed in the back. This most likely means the phone has a 3D stereoscopic screen, just so you can see the things you are recording. The screen is 4.2-inches diagonally and probably an LCD display with a qHD high resolution display. Most 3D phones have a dual core processor, so let’s just hope that can be penciled in on the spec sheet. The phone is confirmed to be a CDMA device, so this could either be heading to Verizon or maybe Sprint.
This phone, if released, would go against a few powerful 3D bad boys that currently run the streets. The upcoming HTC EVO 3D would be the biggest competitor because it’s going to be marketed intensely by Sprint and if this goes to Verizon, this will be one heck of a battle. The LG Optimus 3D would be the second competitor for this Sharp device, but we still haven’t heard when this will land on AT&T as the Thrill 4G. All three phones have similar specifications but the LG Optimus 3D is the most powerful by far due to its dual-channel and dual-memory capability.
If you were in the market for a 3D phone, who would you go with? Reply and tell us if the Optimus 3D, Sharp AQUOS or the HTC 3D would be your pick.
