Microsoft is teaming-up with children’s eBook publisher Touchybooks to bring more than 300 interactive children titles to Windows Phone by the end of June. Under the tight schedule, the first 150 eBooks are already available with 20 more hitting Windows Marketplace for Mobile every friggin’ day.
As you can imagine, these ebooks are not “pure” scans — rather they offer interactive experiences making the apps actually interesting for the end users, while featuring adapted text and language for beginning readers (ages 2-7). Kids have the option to either “Read by Myself” or “Read to Me” for most of the stories and each title includes colorful and child friendly illustrations.
Priced from $0.99 – $3.99, with free demo versions, TouchyBooks also features drag and drop articles, hot spots, sound effects, background music and so called “multi-animation touch” where on every touch, something new happens…
To grab a TouchyBooks title for your Windows Phone 7 device, simply search for the publisher name in the Windows Marketplace and take it from there.
