Acer launched a new version of its 10-inch tablet, Iconia Tab A500, in the UK. Unlike the original model which comes with 32GB of built-in storage, this one rocks “only” 16 gigs. The good news is that the amount of memory is directly proportional to the price of the device and in that sense this version costs 100 GBP less — 349.99 GBP, to be more precise. That’s 50 GBP less than what Apple is asking for the cheapest model of iPad 2 in the UK.
Other than the amount of storage capacity, there are no other differences between this and the original Iconia Tab A500. Both devices run Android Honeycomb, while featuring such specs as dual-core 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 10.1-inch 1280×800 capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus on the back, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, 1GB of RAM and so on…
You should be able to find Acer’s tablets at all major electronics retailers in the UK.
