The newly announced Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray may start selling in the UK at some point in August. The information comes from the British mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse, which lists the date on the page dedicated to Sony Ericsson’s smartphone. This, however, is far from definitive information — quite the contrary, Carphone Warehouse can change the date whenever it wants to.
In any case, even if the Ray doesn’t start selling in August, it will most likely be available in September through a number of carriers in the UK as well as the rest of Europe.
As a reminder, the Xperia Ray is sort of a Neo’s smaller brother, rocking a 3.3-inch screen instead of a bigger 3.7-inch one. Rest of the specs are pretty much the same and include things like HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 5-megapixel camera, 1GHz processor, GPS, Bluetooth and other “standard for Android goodies.” All said, we expect the device to be offered free of charge with any contract starting at 30 GBP a month…
