You may’ve heard Sprint’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab got the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update few days ago. Now the same treatment is set to hit British users with Sammy’s first Android-powered tablet. We don’t have the exact release only “within the next couple of weeks” which could mean anything from mid-July to the end of September.
That’s not Honeycomb but then again not that bad for a tablet that was sold with Android 2.2 Froyo on board. As far as we know, Honeycomb was never planned for the Galaxy Tab, meaning those of you owning one will have to find another (unofficial) way to install it (presuming that’s what you want, of course).
Finally in case you wonder, the information about the upcoming Gingerbread update comes from Recombu, who managed to get it from a source at Samsung.
Now it’s all about waiting for your Galaxy Tab to alert you that an update is ready for your device…
