MetroPCS announced new devices in its offering – Huawei M835 and Samsung Freeform III. The first of the two is an entry-level Android 2.2 Froyo-runnin’ smartphone with 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, 3G data and DTS Envelo Virtual Sound Technology that delivers “crisp and clear audio.” It costs $79 and requires MetroPCS’ $50 smartphone service plan.
The other device is a feature phone with full QWERTY keyboard making it ideal for heavy texters and folks who like to keep up with their e-buddies while on the go. Specs wise, it comes with a 1.3-megapixel camera, media player, Bluetooth and a memory card slot. As for the price, the Freeform III could be yours for $49 with MetroPCS’ $40, $45 or $50 monthly service plans.
In addition to launching new device, MetroPCS also announced special back to school promotional pricing on the Kyocera Torino (retailing for $29), Samsung Messenger III (retailing for $69), Samsung Galaxy Indulge (retailing for $299), and LG Optimus M (retailing for $99).
