On the heels of the updated apps for Android and Windows Phone 7, Foursquare has also updated its mobile application for Nokia Series 40 feature phones. The new version packs several handy features, bringing it a lot closer to the feature set Foursquare offers on high-end phones.
For starters, it now uses Nokia Maps to show you your location. Moreover, there’s the brand-new “Explore” section, highlighting nearby venues visited by your friends. Nearby “specials” can also be accessed, giving you a quick look of the special offers brands offer to Foursquare users. Finally, there’s the ability to add new locations to the service.
But the story doesn’t end there. Perhaps more importantly, Foursquare is now available in more countries than ever. And with more than 600 million Series 40 devices in market, the popular check-in service can be used by people in more countries on a Nokia phone than any other mobile device.
Foursquare currently boasts over 10 million users, with over 3 million check-ins performed every day. In total, there have been over 600 million check-ins worldwide.
