Well, it may not have launched this past Thursday but the LTE-equipped Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 pre-orders look to begin shipping on Tuesday, the 26th. This could mean that the powerful Honeycomb tablet could also become available in Verizon stores later in the week.
The super thin Android tablet should be quite the hit now that it has the nation’s fastest network underneath the hood. Of course, you’re gonna have to pay to play but that may be a non-issue for some. We loved the WiFi versions of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and having LTE added in just makes it that much more appealing. While the tablet is still lacking the Android 3.2 update that the Motorola Xoom just received, we’d still pick Samsung’s offering.
With pre-orders shipping early next week, we may indeed see the Tab 10.1 launch in Verizon stores on Thursday, the 28th. There’s obviously no way to confirm this but all the pieces seem to be falling together, yet we’re still wondering why we haven’t any official word on the tablet’s availability from Verizon itself. Either way we’re fairly certain we’ll be seeing best Android Honeycomb tablet to date land on shelves in the very near future.
It’s still a sad day to see the Motorola Xoom still LTE-less and even though the official upgrade will likely take place soon, I wouldn’t be surprised if many Xoom owners are thinking of jumping ship the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Thinner, lighter, and sexier tablet easily bests any other Android tablet available today. Hell, even though the Xoom still lacks LTE, is chunky, and heavier, it still sits at the unjustifiable $599 price point on a two-year contract.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 will also compliment the Galaxy S 2 that’s destined for the US sometime in August, just to fill out your Galaxy life.
Has anyone who pre-ordered their LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 received a shipping notification yet?
