The DROID Bionic was a hot announcement during CES, and we really couldn’t wait to get our hands on one. However, we didn’t realize that the spec-packed Android handset would take several months to hit the market. We’re now hearing that the DROID Bionic isn’t going to arrive until early September – what gives?
Droid-Life says according to its sources:
We had been hearing 9/1 from a variety of sources over the last two weeks and should have stuck with that date. According to a report received today along with this photo, Motorola reps are telling VZW folks that they should expect the device in “early September.”
Over the past seven months since CES – has that much time passed already? – several 1GHz dual-core processor Android devices have hit the market. A few of them have been big hits, some with 3D capabilities and cameras. Will the DROID Bionic be as much of a hit when it finally lands at Verizon? It has a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 4G LTE capabilities (battery life?), 512MB of RAM and a 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen. That ought to squash any concerns about this thing’s relevance or being future-proof when compared to its competitors.
If these rumors are true, there is just about one month left before this beast hits Verizon shelves everywhere. Until then, try holding your breath a little longer – it shouldn’t be too hard.
