CDMA-based HTC Wildfire S hits the FCC

Surprise, surprise – AT&T won’t be the only carrier in the U.S. of A. to sell the HTC Wildfire S. And while we’re pretty certain T-Mobile will get its piece of the action too, the CDMA-version of the device is at the FCC and will most likely hit one of the mobile operators using Qualcomm’s wireless technology. As a matter of fact, some earlier reports (leaked roadmap) suggest US Cellular may launch the device in October but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it hitting portfolios of Cricket, MetroPCS, Virgin Mobile — and who knows, maybe even the big boys of the CDMA world like Verizon and Sprint get it as well. At the moment, all we have is the FCC filing which doesn’t tell us anything about the operators’ plans, leaving us with a ton of room to speculate… If I had to bet, I would put my money on the Wildfire S release this fall by multiple carriers, though I’m not sure which are ones “affected.” We’ll see…
