The T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9900 was announced a few months ago, and though we’re expecting it to land sometime before the end of the summer, exact dates have been scarce. This one leaked slide suggests that T-Mobile will be putting it on shelves on August 31, just in time for the back-to-school rush. There aren’t a lot of details as far as pricing goes, but you will be able to snag a $50 mail-in rebate when you subscribe to a $20 data add-on.

The Bold 9900 will be spearheading a flurry of OS 7 devices, some of which we’re expecting to be announced this week. The BlackBerry Torch 9850/60 and Torch 9810 will also be sporting a near-field communications chip, faster processors, bigger screens, a magnetic compass for augmented reality apps, and mobile hotspot functions. The 9900 has a 2.8-inch 640 x 480 touchscreen, a classic QWERTY keyboard, 8 GB of on-board storage, and a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash that can shoot 720p HD video. Check out our hands-on video over here.

It’s good to see an AWS version of the Bold 9900 getting closer to reality, since I’m really holding out for Wind Mobile and Mobilicity to offer it up here. It’s looking like the new Bold will be making it to just about all of the major U.S. carriers, as either the 9900 or the 9930 on Verizon and Sprint. As always, the rumoured release date is subject to delays and changes, so mark your calendars lightly.
