Apple’s iOS 5 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is bringing a lot of new features that we’re eagerly waiting for. The notification system is vastly improved, certain apps will be integrated throughout the OS and iCloud will make the overall experience a pleasure. So, when can we expect iOS 5 to hit? Sooner than later, it seems, because Apple is already approving apps with iOS 5 compatibility.
Of course, this could mean nothing at all. Just because app updates include iOS 5 compatibility, it doesn’t mean that the platform’s launch is right around the corner. However, we wouldn’t be too surprised if it launches some time next month. Rumors say that iOS 5 is launching along with the iPhone 5, and depending on which sources you believe, that could be next month or possibly in October. The only thing we know for sure is that iOS 5 is launching this fall.
What do you think? If iOS 5 wasn’t on the horizon, would Apple approve app updates that include compatibility with it? Also, if you’re running the beta version and you use apps that have now been updated with iOS 5 compatibility, let us know how it’s been working out for you!
