Those of you waiting to grab yourself the TouchPad 4G will be glad to know that HP’s tablet has finally hit the FCC where engineers are testing its radiation levels to ensure it’s safe to use in the U.S. of A. As we reported earlier, the device should be launched later this month, running on AT&T’s HSPA+ (rather than LTE) network.
However, it’s not just another radio that’s been crammed inside the TouchPad – this version also comes with a slightly faster processor, clocking at 1.5GHz — as opposed to 1.2GHz found in the original tablet.
The question, however, remains whether that’s good enough for people to adopt webOS with so many Android options out there. Don’t get me wrong – I love webOS, but HP didn’t do a good job marketing the platform to developers who are still mainly focused on iOS and Android users. Hopefully things will speed up in the months to come and we’ll have another platform competing for our attention (and money). 😉
