MetroPCS and Rhapsody Music are teaming up to offer the prepaid carrier’s customers free, unlimited mobile music when you subscribe to its $60 monthly plan.
While I failed to include Rhapsody in my mobile music roundup, it offers more than 12 million tracks and does deliver a cool service. MetroPCS users with the Unlimited Music plan will be able to stream any track they way, as well as download tracks to their device for offline listening. The plan also gives you unlimited talk, text and mobile data.
“Our customers want a rich entertainment experience, and music tops their charts. With the addition of the Rhapsody service, MetroPCS takes yet another step to deliver premium service at an unmatched value,” said Tom Keys, president and COO of MetroPCS, in a prepared statement. “Rhapsody Unlimited Music service not only delivers ‘music for all’ but also gives consumers convenient access to their music collections on our expanding portfolio of Android devices.”
MetroPCS isn’t the first to use mobile music to entice users, as Cricket’s Muve Music also gives you unlimited music for a monthly fee that doesn’t involve contracts. I also like how you can use Cricket’s Muve to create ringtones.
