T-Mobile has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S II and you’ll soon be able to get one of the hottest Android phones to ever exist in your hands.
We’re obviously not surprised that Magenta is announcing the handset right now. At the moment, Samsung’s event is going on and the carriers have jumped the gun. Unfortunately, not much else has been announced concerning the handset: All we know is that the phone is coming. No release date, pricing, nothing. Unless you count “Fall” as a date.
The Samsung Galaxy S II is definitely one of the most powerful devices we’ve ever come across and it’s even more exciting to see it finally come to the US. We’ve been waiting for a while on this handset and it’s bound to be a hit. After moving five million units elsewhere, Samsung stands a very good chance at doubling that number, if not more.
Of course, the handset will be launching on Sprint and AT&T as well, both with their respective “4G” networks, so it’s not like this is a T-Mobile exclusive. Nonetheless, this is very exciting for Magenta users.
While we know nothing as far as pricing, we’d be surprised if the Galaxy S II would run you more than $200 on contract. We’ve definitely seen that happen before, but given that other carriers will be bringing the hot handset at the 2 bill mark would give them a leg up, so we doubt Magenta is looking to give anyone else an advantage.
The Hercules has finally been revealed, so who is grabbing one?
Press release after the break.
