AOL is obviously serious when it comes to tablet magazines. Their Editions iPad app has been updated to include three new categories – cars, pets and gaming. As a result, users can now choose between 18 section – including tech, business, design, food & cooking, family, health & fitness, travel, etc.
Personalization features remain on place as well, allowing users to set their favorite teams, celebrities and get personalized horoscope and local weather report. What’s more, Editions will prepare a custom calendar page for every reader, highlighting its buddies’ birthdays and other events noted on social networks…
The market for personalized magazines is getting increasingly competitive. Recently we’ve seen CNN acquiring Zite, while Flipboard (which pretty much created this market niche) said it will include TV shows and ebooks in the future versions. We’ll keep our eyes wide open and let you know as soon as we hear something newsworthy. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
