Android Jelly Bean to follow Ice Cream Sandwich

Other than a few questionable, partially blacked-out screenshots, we have very little to go on when it comes to Google’s latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich.  Also not known about Ice Cream Sandwich is the actual version number, but we do know that it should debut on the next Nexus handset sometime in late October or early November. So, even with the little we know about ICS, we’re already beginning to hear a few tidbits about the next version of the mobile OS, which is set to be named Jelly Bean.

So what do we know about Jelly Bean? Not much, actually. Other than the name itself, the only thing that is known is that some “game-changing” features that were supposed to land in Ice Cream Sandwich have been pushed to this update. Obviously we don’t know what these features may be but apparently they were ambitious enough for Google to want to spend more time on them. Whatever these features may be, we can imagine they will be worth the wait.

No time frame was given for the debut of Jelly Bean, but we can imagine it may be quite a ways off. Either way, we now have a lot to look forward to in the Android space with Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean, and now we can all begin the ‘K” speculation. I’d go with Key Lime Pie. What’s your guess?

I don’t know how I missed it, but now that you mention it, Android releases HAVE gone in alphabetical order. Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Key Lime Pie, Licorice, Molasses, Nougat, and the list goes on and on and on

im afraid this has less to do with having features that are “ambitious enough for Google to want to spend more time on them”, and more to do with “let’s rush this thing out before everyone drools over the iPhone5″
