Android users in the United States have been enjoying Voice Actions for about a year now and you Europeans out there will be happy to know that the voice-controlled actions are now available in the U.K., France, Italy, Germany and Spain it can be used in British English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
For those of you who don’t know what Google Voice Action does, this service enables your Android phone to be controlled by your speech. I’ve found that it’s especially handy when you’re driving, as you can hold the microphone button to control:
send text to [contact] [message]
call [business]
call [contact]
go to [website]
navigate to [location/business name]
directions to [location/business name]
map of [location]
The free app is available now in the Android Market and it should work on any phone with Android 2.2 and above. Go for it.
