Square Enix is no stranger to the mobile platform game as they’ve released a number of titles on iOS for a couple of years now, but support for the Android market has been nonexistent. That’s all about to change as Square Enix has not only announced some upcoming iOS games, but games will start to be released on the Android market on a regular basis as well.
If you’re an Android gamer who has been envious of all the attention iOS gamers have been receiving from Square Enix, you shouldn’t fret as the company announced it will be releasing a dedicated app on the Android Market later this year called “Square Enix Market” which will serve as a central hub that will offer games and apps published by Square Enix. As of now, there’s been no official announcement to bringing the Square Enix Market to territories outside of Japan, but I see that changing in the very near future.
Square Enix also announced a slew of titles will be hitting both Android and iOS, although no release date has been confirmed yet. The titles are Super NES RPG classic Chrono Trigger, Itadaki Street, and Dragon Quest Monsters. During their Tokyo Game Show presentation, images of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Chaos Rings, Chaos Rings Omega, and Crystal Defenders were shown to be released on the Android Market.
If that didn’t blow your mind, then this next bit of news probably will. Square Enix also announced Chaos Rings 2, which if you count Chaos Rings Omega, is actually the third game in the series, Diffusion Million Arthur, and Demon’s Score, which is being developed by Epic Games, who if you recall, were the publishers behind Infinity Blade.
Now that all the announcements have been made, I think you should go reflect on all of the goodness Square Enix just announced, especially if you’re an Android gamer. Don’t spend too much time reflecting though, you need to get back to work so you can have enough money to buy these titles when they’re released.
