Motorola Photon 4G gets a small update to improve Wi-Fi performance

Sprint’s Motorola Photon 4G is receiving a small update as we speak. Presuming you’re in the “affected” group, once updated – your Photon 4G will run Android version 4.5.1A-1_SUN-154_6/45.2.7.MB855.Sprint.en.US. We’ve no idea what’s all included, except improved Wi-Fi performance. Moreover, users are reporting overall performance improvements, though we don’t have the specifics.

Now we hope U.S. Cellular’s version of the device, Motorola Electrify, will get the same treatment, too.

If you want to check whether there’s a new firmware available for your Photon 4G, go to “Settings” -> “About phone” and then “Software updates.” Make sure your battery is fully charged to have enough juice to finalize the process once you hit the “Update” button.
