Default Android Market obviously isn’t enough for Samsung when they decided to launch their own service called Premium Samsung Apps Store. As you can imagine, not every app and/or game is listed here — rather Samsung’s editors will pick and choose the highest quality content for all the Galaxy series smartphone owners out there. Among the premium apps available, we find Zenonia, The Sims 3 HD, Need for Speed Shift HD and 9mm.
At the moment, Samsung will take your credit cards, but the idea is to include phone billing in the near future when app purchases will be added to your monthly bill or deducted from a SIM card balance for prepaid users.
Premium apps are available from the Samsung Apps Store for Android at samsungapps.com. If everything goes as planned in the UK, the company will undoubtedly expand the service to other markets.
Finally, here’s what Simon Stanford (Managing Director of Mobile at Samsung UK and Ireland) had to say about the new service: “In the spirit of providing Android users with the best possible mobile experience, it is our intention to continue to develop this premium service to ensure our customers have access to all the latest great content on Android.”
