Sony Ericsson released the Android 2.3.4 update for its Xperia Neo smartphone. Aside from packing the Android core changes — including support for Google Video Chat — the Swedish-Japanese handset makers decided to further sweeten the deal by including additional updates under the hood, as well. For instance, this firmware release also comes with:
- Improved Facebook integration
- “Swipe to type” option in Sony Ericsson’s keyboard
- Screenshot tool (now built into the software)
- 3D sweep panorama camera mode that allows you to take 3D panoramic pictures
On the downside though, you’ll need to use Sony Ericsson’s desktop update tool to get your Xperia Neo to run Android 2.3.4. At the moment while I was writing this, over-the-air update is not available…
Of course, it is advised that you backup all the data prior to pushing the “update” button, just in case (God forbid) something goes wrong. If that’s on place, you’re ready to proceed. Good luck! 😉
