HTC Amaze teases with a few new press pictures

Earlier this month, we got a quick glance at a new HTC handset headed to T-Mobile, but some more official-looking shots of the HTC Amaze / Ruby have just bubbled up. No additional information, like a release date, accompanied these shots unfortunately.

From what we’ve gathered, the Amaze is going to be a pretty impressive bit of hardware; it’s got a 4.3-inch 960 x 540 touchscreen, a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor,  1 GB of RAM, and an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash. The HTC Amaze will be running Android 2.3 with Sense 3.5 on top, and connect to T-Mobile’s 42 MBps HSPA+ network.

These high-end specs should provide a solid alternative to the new Samsung Galaxy S II T-Mobile will be offering, both of which will be vital for them to stay in the game if they don’t get an iPhone in the next couple of weeks. We were really hoping to see the HTC Amaze last week, and though that didn’t quite pan out, hopefully these press shots indicate that a release of the HTC Amaze on T-Mobile is due really soon. T-Mobile has an event tonight…  Cross your fingers, y’all.
