TechCrunch is killing it with Facebook coverage, as the company said that the Facebook iPad app will launch next week alongside a revamped HMTL5-based mobile version.

We know that the Facebook iPad app has been done for quite some time or at least, was “feature complete” for a few months but the world’s largest social network held off for some reason. We’d also heard about the HTML5-based “Project Spartan,” which will enable Facebook apps to run directly through the browser.

Why would these both come next week? Yep, it should coincide with the Apple iPhone 5 announcement and both of these may be unveiled at that event to show how social and HTML5-capable iOS 5 is. I’m looking forward to both but what I would really like is for Facebook to be integrated in iOS system-wide like Twitter will be with the latest version of the software.

So, are you excited about the potential of a Facebook iPad app?
